France is known for fashions, romance and most of all fine wines.
Chateau Fongraves takes a lot of pride in producing an exquisite wine from older vines which has taken over 45 years to master. The vineyards were created by Francesso Tabbacchiers in the 1970’s with just a few vines. In 1985, his son, Rosario, took over the vineyards which led him to plant a majority of merlot vines. Then Rosario introduced his son, Julien, to the vineyards who breathed a whole new life into the estate which now produces Chateau Fongraves.
The Chateau Fongraves estate lies on a unique sand-clayey composed of pebbles that absorb the heat during the day and radiate it back into the vines at night which contributes to the excellent structure and balance of their rich merlot and cabernet. The richness of the land and the climate of the Bordelais region play an important part in the development of extraordinary merlot grapes. The vineyards are tended with meticulous care with rigorous pruning and the grapes are harvested entirely by hand using very little fertilizers allowing the vines to grow naturally in a balanced healthy and harmonious environment.
There is a process where the red wines are aged for long periods in French oak barrels which give Chateau Fongraves the perfect combination of taste and harmony.
