Eunice W. Johnson…
The Vision Behind Ebony Fashion Fair

During Black History month, we all should take a moment to show our admiration for those who opened doors and paved the way for all races.  Such as the legendary fashion icon, Mrs. Eunice W. Johnson.  Visionaries such as Mrs. Johnson did not let race stand in her way.  Her love for fashions and color and her passion for helping others gave designers from all walks of life the opportunity to showcase their fashions.

In 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson started Ebony Magazine.  Ebony Magazine is committed to showcasing the accomplishments and lifestyles of people of color.  In 1956, Mrs. Johnson, started Ebony Fashion Fair as a fundraiser which has grown into the world's largest fashion show.  Ebony Fashion Fair showcased such designer as Yves St. Laurent, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Bouwer and many more.  Ebony Fashion Fair has toured over 180 cities and raised more than $55 million for scholarships.
